ABOUTBeatriz Bagulho (Lisbon, 1997) is a Brussels-based director, visual development artist, illustrator and 2D animator. Communicating through drawing and animation, Beatriz translates stories and ideas into whimsical, surreal worlds. Following her graduation from the University of the West of England (Animation BA) in 2019, she has since worked across audiovisual, editorial and multidisciplinary projects—through art direction, illustration, animation and design.
Her collaborations include Centro Cultural de Belém, Zonzo Compagnie, Teatro Nacional de São Carlos, Imprensa Nacional, Teatro do Mar, Ocidental Filmes and Laranja Azul. As an author, her shorts (In)Dividual (2019) and Corporealitis (2018) have been presented and awarded in international festivals. Beatriz is currently completing an MA in Animation at LUCA School of Arts in Brussels, working as a freelancer, and developing her first professional short, “Olivia’s Cosmos,” produced with COLA Animation. fotografia © Samanta Batista
