The performance "A Menina do Mar", for which I had the pleasure of illustrating the scenarios, is presented at Dias da Música festival, in Centro Cultural de Belém, Lisbon, this weekend!
"A Bayadere", commissioned illustration work for the Companhia Nacional de Bailado, is a children's book based on the performance currently on stage at Teatro Camões. The adaptation of the story was written by Diana Bastos Niepce, and I illustrated it. Minutes 12-16- The television programme "Literatura Aqui", with an interview to me and the writer:
(it's in portuguese) Undoubtedly, the final project that I developed at António Arroio (Prova de Aptidão Artística) was my first real experience at time management and planning, design and illustration. Even though I had previously illustrated a few assignments and commissions, it was in the making of this final project that I fully understood how to develop a project from scratch, how to design and solve problems. I've created a collection of illustrated activity books for children, based in philosophical concepts. Due to time regulations, only two books of the idealized collection were made: Metaphysics and Aesthetics. The text, written with the help of a professional philosopher, is characterized by its open philosophical questions, grouped logically. For each question I created an activity, and for each group a certain illustration style. It was a very successful P.A.A, and I graduated with 20/20 on that subject. The books are now currently in competition for an exhibition focused on this module, organised by António Arroio. |
